Why’d you let her go away?
The room asked unhappily
I tried to stop her you know
You witnessed our goodbye
Came the soft voiced reply

If I showed you her face
What would you say to that?
The room wondered softly
I’d give you anything
That you dared to ask for

There’s a magic mirror
Within these four walls
You’ve used it before
Ask nicely and it’ll give
Whatever you wish to see

The man was quiet for a bit
As he pondered the truth
For the mirror was there
Why hadn’t he seen her before?

Although my mistress is far
I can sense her in everything
From the walls to the sheets
You, on the other hand, can’t
For you’ve never missed her

Then how will I see her now?
Asked the man as he paced
You lived without her for too long
You realize what she means
Now, use the mirror and see

He laid his palm on the mirror
Rested his forehead against it
Closed his eyes tight and wished
At the sound of her soft giggle
He opened his eyes wide

And saw her behind him

Eyes locked, neither one ready to give in

A smile upon my lips; hinting

Eyelashes flutter down in flirtation

As you give up the pretense; wait

We’re aligned suddenly, very closely

I trace your face with fingertips

We glide as one, our bodies touching

This dance is subtle yet provocative

Whispers follow us from the floor

All I hear are the words you say

In the sky diamonds glitter brightly

Their shine rivals that of your beautiful eyes

As you bend towards me and gently

Guide me into another slow dance

Teasing my hair with your breath

As you trace the rim of my ear

Sending tremors down my spine

To where your other hand caresses

I try to pull away from you

You only pull me in closer

Tired of this game of yours

I pull your face down for a kiss

Nibbling on your soft lips

I intend to tease you thoroughly

Linking my arms around your neck

I wonder who will win this game

Let’s call it a draw, go home

And love each other; slowly

Till we’re both lost within

Those cotton sheets of ours

In a trap of fear that’s very real

There are gray threads
For when you’re in a mood
With a touch of love
It changes from gray to silver
Bit of magic

Of sunshine yellow and orange
They help you turn dreams
Into your own reality

I’m tied to you by promises
Words said in front of witnesses
Nothing you say or do
Can make me say goodbye
I will never break my word

These days I feel a bit different
I’m more in tune with you now
I even know what you think and see
When you turn and look at me
You’re messing with my head

It’s beginning to unsettle me
